Cupid Smiled Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Cupid Smiled

As we listened to music of classical style
Notes to enchant ~ words to beguile
The curtains came down on our evening of grace
And we said goodbye to soprano and base.

Our affections soon favoured a movie show
Songs to enchant ~ romance all aglow
Cupid smiled down on our tender embrace
And took us up high to a heavenly place.
