Cuts Poem by Peitho Enthermos

Cuts

The only comfort there was when pain be stingin',
Was the one on my wrist for the one within

I laid both my palms on my lap that day
As I watched the sun laid to rest there at the bay.

Then all of the sudden, a curious silly kid
Came running to my direction, (in my head)I forbid!

He shouted, panting, "I never saw another one since then!
Miss, you fell... Just when? "

It just happened and happened too fast.
He spoke in a way he never would last.

I wouldn't respond, because I hated the kid.
In that moment, of course, I really did!

"People say your likes an angel
"A little mischievous, that's why you fell."

Man, he wasn't telling me any more!
It's too much than any I avoided to hear before!

"Stay longer, would you, please?
You are someone I should never want to miss."

"What on Earth is she, where's your mom? "
I snapped him like that, shouldn't give a damn.

"She's an angel, " went the unexpected respond.
"She went back to heaven, she's good, said she's done."

"Sorry, I didn't know, uhh, I would have liked your mom."
I didn't know what was right to say, what had I become?

"Yeah, she's an angel just like you."
He touched my cuts, then continued, "She wore this tattoo."
