Cutting Poem by carmen cook

Cutting

cutting sometimes hurts the people we love. But then we think we can do it because we're above. sometimes cutting looses the people we love. sometimes it's a coping skill for us, but when we come addicted to it we think we have to do it every night and day. sometimes we burn ourselves because cutting isn't enough. we look at the red blood, pleased with what we did. then we look at our scars, taken aback with what we have done so far. then that day comes where i forget to wear that long sleeved sweater and the kids look at me like what a freak. cutting isn't healthy and that's why i'm writing this poem to tell people what i've been threw and to help people who think it's the answer when it's not.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I really agree with you, and I'm glad you wrote that. I totally understand, and I have suffered from depression. I realized how much it was hurting the people I loved, but I couldn't take anything back. I know what it's like to just see the blood, and think to yourself that all the pain and suffering is pooring forth, so there'll be none left. I know how much it sucks. Cool poem.
