D-Day 70 Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

D-Day 70

D-Day70

'Attention, all soldiers
The low-ranks, NCOs, officers
We went fought; got martyred
We were balls, kicked and kicked
Everywhere, everyone, right and left
Stalin and Hitler, by Churchill and Roosevelt
Game ended and we, pawns
To others handed down.
Now they play
Obama and Harper, and Putin and others
And they have their own games
And their games need the ball.
They use us on-off-on
We are toys for movies
We are joy for babies
And sample for armies
What a shame
We are dust, we are dirt.

Oh my child, never born
Oh my wife, never kissed
Oh parents in black
Oh graves never found
We are soldiers
'The unknown'

Oh people that I killed
Oh ground that I kissed
Oh stitch on my wound
Oh the wound in my head
I'm sorry to disturb.

We're soldiers
'The unknowns'

Shame on you
'The leaders'
