Dad's Revenge Poem by Amelia Patterson

Dad's Revenge

Rating: 5.0

Drums beat.
My heart races.
My eyes dart about the jungle,
looking for something.
I hear a growl behind me.
Turning around, I become face to face with a
huge, black, snarling panther.
Our eyes lock.
I breathe heavily.
His drool drips onto my feet.
The music stops.
GO!
I pull out a Swiss blade.
He growls even louder.
We circle each other.
I make a move.
SWISH!
The knife is swung.
I miss.
He makes the next move.
His claw misses my stomach by mere inches.
THINK FAST!
I swing my weapon again.
I slice his chest.

RRWWWOOOORRRRRR! ! ! ! ! !
He bellows, and falls.
He breathes heavily as
he stares up at me.

I throw the knife on the ground
at his paws.
As I walk away,
a little girl with
a cut on her arm
takes hold of my hand.
I hear him whimper,
but we keep on
walking without
looking back.
