Daddy Poem by Dawn Keller

Daddy

Growing up wasn't easy
Mom was always there for us
And you were always working
You spent very little time with us

I drew to you for attention
I needed a fathers love
I always looked up to you
But never knowing my father's love

You were always angry
Very little made you happy
When home you still worked
You always looked unhappy

After the divorce you became estranged
You got remarried and moved away
I still need my daddy
Why did you have to move far away?

You taught me how to work
On cars; How to be brave
But you love was all I needed
I miss you daddy, your love I crave
