Daddy Poem by Tea Kawana

Daddy

</>Daddy,
I know you notice my complication;
your daughter’s confused state.
Daddy,
I want to listen to correction,
I want to listen to my parents.
I don’t want to make the same mistakes as I have.
I’m listening, Daddy.

Daddy,
I’m not going to be doing this anymore,
I’m listening to you.
I’m taking in your words.
As the Holy Word says,
“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
but he that hateth reproof is brutish.”
And so do I.
