Water runs down my war-torn face
Washing away all of my disgrace
Can’t change where I’ve been or what I’ve done
Can’t change what I’ve seen or what I’ve become
Volunteered so young to do my part
What I found was a man, what I lost was my heart
We all took part in this vicious crime
We lost our youth by focusing their minds
You want the truth about the war
No fireworks, no eagles soar
Women and children die in vein
Soldiers fall out, politicians gain
I take this shower everyday
To cleanse my soul and clear the way
Forget the past be strong and true
No one knows what you’ve been through but you
