Dance Of The Flames Poem by Sven Rhoads

Dance Of The Flames

Smoke is tangled and twisted in the air
Cracking embers leap from the fire
One single spark can ignite the night
Making us forget all of our cares
Enchanted by the dance of the flames
Hypnotized with their every sway
Tales passed around the burning light
Euphoria becomes one and the same

Under the stars of a stellar ocean
We shall rejoice, given this token
Losing ourselves in the dance of the flames
Until the land of nod leaves smoke as remains

Sit amongst the glow
Share a memory
Tonight we meld as one
With the moon by our side

Silence befalls as we gaze in wonder
Only the sound of devouring fire
Warmth brought forth by all companions
As our minds begin to wander
As the flames take their bow in the night
Ashes remains of good times now passed
Departure of sisters and brothers now
Sleep in the darkness and sweet starlight

Until we meet again in this place
To bask in the light of the dance of the flames
