Dancing Flowers, Wondering Skies Poem by Miklos Balogh

Dancing Flowers, Wondering Skies

Little flowers alongside the road dancing in the summer breeze
I walk on the footpath and gentle melodies massage my thoughts
I must break my movement because one of the flowers calls me
‘Stranger of endless travel - what brings you here to the Road of Nowhere? '
‘I am searching for the light I lost when I was a child'
‘Stranger of endless travel - the light is hiding within your heart! '
I sit down along the highway in the sunset
The flowers are dancing in the breeze
I see an awakening light on my horizon
‘Where have you been? '
‘I was walking through many sunsets; I went wondering, to learn the universe'
‘Where have you been? '…‘I lost many friends on the run'
I laze on the ground and listen to the silence
The flowers sing songs of good times… of the past
Where the clean roads and the skies were golden beds of dreams
‘I lost my best friend last night - killed by a runaway car'
‘I am so sad to hear that! ' the flower wept with blood
‘I lost my best friend - she was still blooming when suddenly died'
The flowers stopped dancing - the grey sky started to rise…

I hide low on the ground with wide opened eyes
Inhaling the poison from the passing cars
