Dancing In Circles Poem by Robert Katuli

Dancing In Circles

You have made me cry
I wish I had wings away from you to fly
Grow ye wings of faith so I can try!
May be in a faraway country the process isn't this dry

You have filled my heart with fears
You have dimmed my eyes with tears
I know not how to wait till this dark cloud clears
But I do understand it will take five more years!

You have elevated my fears to terror
You have made me feel guilty of my error
So I want to end my life like that Philippian jailer!
For I fear I will be a voiceless wailer

Now I believe we have been bewitched
For this isn't what we had wished
But it is what the whole world has watched
Including that ‘Mac Moment' when the briefing almost got botched!

Why have you made us cry?
Why have you filled us with fear?
Have we, perhaps, thoroughly been bewitched?
Why, if not, then are we dancing round in circles?
