Dancing On Air Poem by Katherine Rhodes

Dancing On Air

Rating: 5.0

The room is dark and silent,
The window lets the winter in,
But in your bed, in your arms,
The music for our dance begins.

Your whispers soft upon my cheek
Sing in beautiful harmonies.
And soon I am lulled into sleep
Hearing a most enchanting melody.

You take my waist, and I your arm,
And lead me to a place so sweet
We dance and dance, and I don’t notice
There is no ground beneath our feet.

Up in the air, our waltz continues
But neither of us really minds
You draw me closer to your body
And willingly I comply

For soon the sun will wake the world
And my dreams must subside
But your whispers are still with me,
The music of our love resides

Not only in my dream dear sir,
But in your life and mine,
I pray that I may dance on air
And be with you for all time.
