He washes her clothes every day and irons them carefully Says the smell reminds him of...
He looks at the photograph on the old piano - She was quite a looker!
They let him train as a volunteer so he could feed her. The food is pureed it looks awful.
She still smiles when she hears his voice: 'I'm Daphne', 'I know you are darling. you're my Daphne.' 'I love you.' 'I know you do sweetheart.'
They celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary last week. He brought her a chocolate cake, all the kids turned up. 'Happy Anniversary Daphne and Dave.'

What a sweet poem Alison! If only we could all end up with a man like this! (I pray I won't actually 'need' this type of care but it's such a tender time...the growing old process. Very touching. Sincerely, Mary |
