Darkness Poem by Patricia Gale

Darkness

Rating: 4.6

Dark midnight clouds cover the light
In the distance the way seems so black
Motionless but yet continuing
The spring of time has fallen
All hope seems to fade into a deep grave of loneliness
Hope of climbing out of the pit has now been surrendered
And numbness takes control
Feeling nothing but drops of the heart
Falling upon a once brighter way
Take the breath that keeps this mortal soul
Let the battle be or’
Defeat is round the bend
When the sands of time cry for hope
And their sound echoes from glass walls
Each grain descends upon the next
And soon all vanish to the bottom
Buried in this hour glass of life

Something of a 'Dark Night of the Soul' here Patricia! Often that's where we have to begin...! Paul.

You show that even darkness and despair have beauty hidden there!

Impressive.. you really have selected precisely the right words to create the negative atmosphere. 'Enjoyed' is not the word. Admired, perhaps. t x

So very sad, yet so very touching and beautiful....we all have those dark moments where Hope is hard to find to grasp on to.....you have described how the heart and soul feel at that moment perfectly...thank you for this. mm.
