Darkness Is Everywhere Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

Darkness Is Everywhere

No light in sight
and the thunderstorm
is roaring like a hungry lion
and the hooting of owls
in the trembling trees
and the mournful cry of cats
frightened the light away
even among the shadows
I can hear dogs barking
how uncomfortable is the feeling
when light is like a long lost friend
and darkness is everywhere.
