Daruman, Indian Daruman Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Daruman, Indian Daruman

He is a daruman,
Who drinks it not
But wine has started gulping him,
An Indian daruman,
A bottle-man
Who deals in wine, ale, liquor,
Deshi, native, country liquor
Brewed from rotten rice, handia,
Mahua and molasses,
Take you a bottle
And fall flat
Unable to stand for a day
When senses come to,
Living for wine, dying for wine,
A daruman,
An Indian daruman,
Speaking, brother, this wine is life,
Life, I love it more than my life,
Daruman,
Indian daruman!
