Joey Jones

Daughter

Let me forever kiss those tears from your face
Let me forever hold you with a father's embrace
Let me forever guide you on a path that is sure
Let me forever protect you in this world unpure

Come snuggle with me when the nights grow cold
Come snuggle with me when you're not so bold
Come snuggle with me when the dreams bring fear
Come snuggle with me when you just need me near

Hold tightly my hand when the road seems to long
Hold tightly my hand when you're not that strong
Hold tightly my hand when you fear the water deep
Hold tightly my hand when you are just too weak

Come sit with me when you just need a friend
Come sit with me when you're heart needs a mend
Come sit with me before we walk down the aisle
Come sit with me daughter if only for a little while

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
