Day And Night Ix Poem by Atef Ayadi

Day And Night Ix

She said:

''If you are not eating,
drinking,
laughing,
spilling, or
breathing and coughing
while you are eating, drinking, and laughing;
You are not with me.

If you are talking
whispering,
dreaming,
wrestling
while you are dreaming, or
talking to me,
with your thoughts, or
with your dreams
within your thoughts;
You are not with me.

If you are not moving,
writing,
scratching,
tearing and,
cutting my skin or your skin,
walking,
jumping,
sleep walking
while your enjoying
waking and jumping, cutting and tearing my skin
or your skin
in your night or day dreams
You are not with me.

So, are you
with me,
with yourself,
or half
here,
half
there
trying to catch up with your lost
soul and lost soul dreams,

or somewhere in between.
or

You are not with me.''
