Day Dreams Poem by Bharat Trivedi

Day Dreams

Rating: 5.0

Memories of spent days
have risen
like the bird Phoenix
from the cinnamon ashes of my past…

Your musky memories rise
with the smiling morning sun
to follow me in the hot afternoons of my life,
I make you fly like a kite
in the vast expanse of cloudless sky.
like blue smoke ascending from
the half-burnt autumn leaves.

I nest your shadow in the cage of my carnivorous cravings
to quench the thirsty summers of my body!
My libidinous thoughts inseminate you, clandestinely…
You want me, as I want you!
Greedily gulping the passion wine
from our lusty golden goblets
we get intoxicated in our silvery body fluids!

Our gleaming eyes carry a reflection
of that iridescent horizon,
where our liquids and libido copulated…
The twinkling stars impishly wink at the love-marks
tattooed on our uncovered bodies,
Shimmering shadows dance in the light
of the flickering flames of scented candles!

Together, we chase the seven-horsed chariot,
feeling weary I droop to deep sleep,
and wake up to realise,
it was only a day dream…
