I started out on my feet On a lonely dead end street, Next thing I knew I was on my knees Praying to the cold concrete. And whistles blow Branches bend, The truth is shown On a dirty wind, This open wound will never mend, And this dead end street will never end. Crawling on hands and knees Getting there on Benzedrine, Floating like a worn out leaf On the waters of deciet. Hammers pound the nails down Keeping me in place, A lamppost shines to the ground Not showing my face, Will this heart ever beat again? Will this dead end road ever end?
