Summer-time was far too handsome
To go for a walk just alone.
So I stay in by myself with a book
Or meet friends in a partner-free zone.
O, the days that I missed at that ransom!
Well, at least the good Autumn brought you;
As the trees their leaves shed,
I had you in my bed:
And November was sunshine and blue.
