Dear Mom, Poem by stephanie murillo

Dear Mom,

Never in my life
Now you want to be a part
But I’m doing fine without you
Man you’ll make me loose my mind

I could barely understand you
It’s as if you’re always drunk
But you say that you don’t do that
That’s just how you ended up

I cannot let me love you
For I fear you’ll hurt me again
As I start to come in closer
That’s when you’ll just pull away

I cannot take that chance
There’s way to much at stake
Please don’t try to love me
I cannot take your hugs

For it’s a show of hypocrisy
And soon the curtain will come crashing down
