Death Poem by Jacob Wescott

Death

Rating: 4.0

As I watch the life drain from Rose
I know that death is near
Its brisk presence sends chills up my body
My lungs now know what a knife feels like
If I stay too long it will suffocate me from the inside
Too Late!
I'm already dying
As I try to preserve the last gasps of air I have,
My toes have already begun to freeze
Now I am alone
No one around to help
I could scream but that would be a waste of life
My vocal chords have frozen too much to speak
Now I shall lay here until my lungs freeze over

Now I feel a tropical breeze begin to conquer my body
And now I know, I am home.
