Death Poem by Kikee Doma Bhutia

Death! ! !
I am not afraid
I am not at all scared of death
Death is just like any other things
Like breathing, eating, lingering
It is a process
Everyone is running towards it
Walking towards, crawling and stepping towards it
I am not scared to die.
It is much better
Because I love the curiosity
Which remains in every human heart
Whether there is life after death?
But again it is also a freedom from the life of pain
Sadness, illness and all other miams
Death, is a being
Living among us,
Breathing among us, every second
Hoping to be embraced and loved
But people just refrain
If I die tonight
There is nor a single thing I want and would ask
But one thing would break my heart
Death is not so painful
But the fact that we leave the person we love behind
The fear that they might forget us
The dilemma that remains
Though it would be great to see them happy
But forgetting is upsetting.
Life moves on
Death remains still.
Life carries on with the ups and downs and its busy schedule
But death remains intact among the space
Spaces unseen and heartbreaking
I would not mind dying tonight
I know any human would not mind dying any time
But until they would know about the things they would leave unfinished
It would wreck one's heart to see pain
Driving right through dead towards life
It would carry itself in heaven or hell
It would worry for hope to come and let everything be normal
Yes, I am not scared of death
But scared of leaving the person behind
Whose love had given a meaning to life
And purpose to live and endure
So, death do come
Sooner or later I don't mind
But during the time when my heart so empty
When it beats for no one
Don't leave me with the regrets and guilt
Nor with utter selfish loneliness
But when you see space in my heart
Sweep away me from all
And provide me a sanctuary of peace.....

Very, very, very deep. It is so romantically and humanly wise, the sentiment of not fearing death, yet afraid of hurting those that love you and are left behind. It is true that their suffering is endless
