Death & Beyond Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Death & Beyond

Dying the worst of any death
Still ignorant of grace
Seeing beyond one's final breath
Tears on Jesus' face

What dreadful realization
Life's facts with open eyes
Death's truth of endless damnation
Converse to Satan's lies

I thank my God for His warning
Turning a bible page
Revealing Salvation dawning
Amidst this dreadful age

You've felt, You've heard, Your eyes have seen
The filthiness I've done
How shameful filthy Lord, I've been
Not knowing Christ Your Son

Oh that selfishness would fail me
Love would burn like fire
The worst of sinners be set free
To live as You desire

Unattainable; without You
However much we try
Nothing we think, we'll say or do
Will help us when we die

Lord, equip, prepare, give guidance
Seeing lost souls who die
Dismiss all foreign alliance
Let others see as I

Let others hear, see and know
What devils shrewdly hide
Reveal life's Only Way to go
Through Heaven's Promise inside.....
