Death By Als Poem by barbara williams

Death By Als

Soon
enveloped in itchy blankets
breathing damp basement air
little voice encapsulated in broken body
mom in a shell
an itch to scratch? an arm to move?
please do dear daughter
i am trapped
black night alone
afraid
when sleep should come
suspended-the life she had
falling without a net
heavenward
