Prescriptions…. To ease the pain
By: Rhonda Moody August 12,2009
In Memory of Kim Hale Hudspeth RIP September 7,1960-August 9,2009
Too much heartbreak
For one person that’s for sure
And scarred memories
Were left for her to endure
The pain that once filled her
All the grief from her past
Has now for her vanished
They are gone at last
No more pain, no more suffering
No more prescription drugs will she need
To help erase a past…
Of painful memories indeed
The loss of a husband, brother, and granddaughter
Burdened her with sorrow… filled her with grief
the death later of her Daughter
Getting past this… she could not see
Using prescription drugs
A vice from her doctor
Became a way of life
To cope with disaster
It’s easy I know…
To quickly be drawn
To something that makes you feel
Nothing at all…
Once you start taking pills
Prescribed by your doctor
It’s easy to hide the sorrow
You feel you have conquered
When the emptiness and sorrow
Creep back…its then you see
You now need more
So once again… you can feel free
It is a struggle… to say the least
Starting each day over…
Popping pills when you awake
It’s the only way to feel normal
Outsiders… The ones who think you are high
Don’t know what it’s like to live your life
Taking the pills are not done for pleasure
They simply keep you sane… on your Journey you endeavor
To family and friends
Not knowing what it’s like
Using prescription drugs
To make it through life…
It starts as a little…
And becomes a lot
You think you can stop it
But all control… you have lost
The drugs make you feel
You are someone you’re not
Anything’s better than a life
You no longer want
It’s hard to control
Once they are in your system
And you will always need a new kind
For yet another symptom
If only the doctors
Would stop writing prescriptions so freely
Maybe there would be less people in the world
Whose addictions they are feeding
A life now ended…
All thanks to prescriptions
And the doctors will say
This was not their intentions
I hope from Kim’s death
We can all come to see….
Peace you cannot find in any prescription
Turn to the Lord Jesus… let him be your addiction
