Let your Light Shine

There are some people who have it
and others who don't
There are some people who are raised with it
Others find it on their own

This thing that some hold in their hearts
are not secretes for them to keep
They are commanded to plant a seed
so that others may come to believe

I was not one of the fortunate ones
to be raised with this knowledge you see
It was something I had to find for myself
on the path of destruction I was leading

Wasted years consumed my life
with tragedies I was burdened
If only I had seen the light somewhere
Some things I would have avoided

What is this light I am speaking of
It is the Son of God
and those of us who possess this light
should uncover it... and show his love

For once he comes into your heart
the two shall never part
A constant in your every move
to show Jesus in your walk

What once was a shadow of darkness over me
Is now cast aside by this light
and through Gods will I shall plant the seeds
and shine bright so that others may see

For the ones that do no know him
have to count on you and I
to bring them out of the darkness their in
Our Light... we shall not hide
