Death Matters Poem by Crystal Pierce

Death Matters

Rating: 5.0

Death does matter.

We can't always believe that it won't happen.
It does! Once we die we are gone,
and a lot of people will be sadden.
You'll never get to see another sunset at dawn.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I believe people don't take death seriously anymore. Just think about it, your last breathe. Never waking up again. Being put into a 6 foot hole. Think about it! Then think about the place you may go after death! Do you know for sure where you are going?

Hi Crystal, I was going through your poems, as I found you out only today! Was very interested. This poem stopped me here! Where do we go after death? -A very intriguing question, indeed. According to Indian philosophy, only the body dies. The Aatma (the 'power' that gives life to the body,) has no death. He just leaves an old body aside, and wears a new body, as human beings shed old dress and put on a new one. This is what is said in the great book of Hindu philosophy, Bhagavat Geetha. I invite you read more on Geetha. Pl give it a try! And thank you for sharing this beautiful poem. A full 100+++ for it. Do write and keep sharing on ph.
