Death Of A Muse Poem by Ellie Cook

Death Of A Muse

You come to me playful, joyful and open
I go from you changed
Along the way you opened my heart and inspired
Did you peer in?
What did you see ….was it me?
Sorrow, sadness, the loss of the specific hope….of you.
My mind vacant now without your ever present will
Always turning me forward pushing me to look within
Waiting, wanting the dream of you
As you talk me through all beautiful place and things
The colors of my sleep you gave to me, all gone now
As I turn a lonely heart toward the night will it stop seeking you?
Will the eyes always scan for a sight of you?
Will this mind ever fill again with the beauty you brought?
Will the joy and inspiration be replaced by another?
Will I dream of his golden skin as I did yours?
For all I didn’t give in return……..my hope is you will go as changed as I
That you will always be open and inspire another heart to dream.
