On The Wings Of Beauty Poem by Ellie Cook

On The Wings Of Beauty

Rating: 4.1

On the wings of beauty you arrive, golden and strong
Eyes of crystal, sorrow lightly traced, faint smile, hair of gray
Drawn as birds of winter seeking warm valleys to the south
My lips seek for the soft warmth of your mouth,
Wet and inviting, calling me to you, we wont be denied.

Night’s slumber delayed by loves embrace and passion’s taste
Whispered notes wrapped in blue and sung so loud
And “Oh” …seen in the mirror as sweat glistens on your face
Our bodies arched, rapture met, and you…yes you…

The future has greeted us with complete abandon and joy
Our life work ahead of us and we begin in the dark without fear
At your side, I find solace to the pain left from before you
At my side, I pray you find comfort and peace

How will my love for you measured at journeys end?
Will the measure of it be true to its depth and breath?
Will the test of time prove out the distance that we traveled to each other?
Will you still seek this warm valley for safety and rest?
Call to me, I will come.
