Defaced Poem by Nandipha Mphanya

Defaced

I can't see myself
Mirrors facing me
But I feel defaced
Downgraded
Stained with nowhere to go
I a picture perfect I long for thee
I can't seem to reach
I can't seem to paint you
Dethrone
All that comes rushing through  my veins
I out you on a pedestal
But look how I'm doing now
I feel bloodless
I can't see myself
Even with mirrors  around
Myself,   my reflection
Nowhere to be found
It's an awol  kinda  thing
And a catch 22 business
The same seed that defaces  me is the  same seed that  heals me
I need to see myself  again
And be good to thee
I need me again
