Defended And Protected Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Defended And Protected

Long before delusion,
Took the place of reality.
And hypocrisy was a fad.
Not yet to worship.
There were people who once lived,
With dignity, integrity and respect.
No one pulled out a gun,
If someone near them...
Had been chewing bubble gum.
Then to blow bubbles to pop!
Although the doing is irritating.
And no one called anyone's mother,
Anything other than her last name.
To express the wellness they wished her.
But...
TODAY! ?
God has those of faith,
Tested.
Tested beyond 'spandex' worn.
And...
That test to see in person,
Is beyond the special effects created...
In all of the 'StarTrek' movies.
I kid you not.
Miraculous I have seen spandex stretched.

We are living in times,
The trying to understand them...
Has many addicted on crack.
Or something stronger than that.
To make them strip off clothes in public.
And...
People will brag about being crooks.
Thieves and despicable criminals.
To get book deals and movie contracts.
Or encouraged to run for political office.
This to do and publicly announce,
Is crazy sad madness!
No matter who does it to have approved.
We are living in mind bending times.
Even pretending them not to exist is sick.
But stopping to solve the problem,
Is God's job not ours!
We have already made a commitment,
To keeping ignorance defended and protected!
As a preferred way of life to live.
