STATEMENT
“Violence”, as defined
for some enquiring minds,
implies “injury” or “outrage”.
I quote from the Concise O.E.D –
if I’m not mistaken, page
fourteen hundred and fifty-three.
POSTSCRIPT
In the dictionary, I must admit,
“poetry” lies closer to “pity” than “violence”,
but perhaps in printing that’s just a bad habit
we should ignore with the scorn of our silence.
