Demolished Beauty Poem by Lois doyle

Demolished Beauty

It seems like we’re wrong
To say that we’re strong
Standing on a rain painted ground
Every splash from a tear hits our cheeks without a sound
The world grows icy and swallowed by hate
Coming from the original American broken home judges our fate
Love is inspired by beauty but demolished by vanity
The world’s priceless life devoured by inhumanity
Loosing what made us exceptional and amazing
Taking a path filled with emotions and labeled “hell raising”

A candle light flickers inside of us,
Whether it burns or washes out is up to who we become
Taking the risks to find happiness or leaving ourselves numb
Our dreams always one step ahead of us when we’re branded poor
The rich drinking in their wishes and leaving greediness for their core
But the difference between all of the population
Is who stands with the Lord’s expectation
Or those who give into the dying world’s temptation.
