Depression Poem by Matthew Foor

Depression

Gradually sinking
Stability of the mind compromised
Latching to the last anchor of hope

"What if's" just out of reach
Tug-o-war between Devil and soul
Negativity rooted to every thought

Mind's eye blinded by rage
Impenetrable walls erected
Around all that might be

Invoked by despair and disdain
Invested in inverse invalidations
Planting melodramatic outcomes
Within an unstable life

This is my quandary
This is my strife
