Depths Of Faith Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Depths Of Faith

Not few receive Salvation’s grace
Not few desire life’s crown
But if we’ll see The Father’s face
Our roots must grow deep down

Until our depths reach depths unknown
And doubt we’ve locked our door
Until true faith is on it’s throne
The dragon’s jaws will roar

True life through hope, can no one win
Or strength of flesh and bone
Nor for the swift who flee from sin
But through true faith alone

When tested faith we see endure
When trust is seen alive
Our hope of life in Christ is sure
And ever more to thrive

Though God’s promise is not received
Unmoved not few have died
In hope to rise through Him believed
To be His faithful bride

Until the point of worldly death
Until the grave’s in view
Until we spend our final breath
Our God will stay us true

Through faith this world one day we’ll leave
Departing from it’s cares
We’ll rise to Him we now believe
And reign with Him as heirs

Though not for thought nor word or deed
Not silver, gold nor jewel
But through our faith in Christ God’s seed
Because we lived His fool
