Desire Poem by Dr.Sandhya Tiwari

Desire

Rating: 5.0

A desire in a being is born with the birth
Starting with cry, longing and mirth
Desiring intensely, dreaming with open eyes
Desire grows and turns into passion and obsession.

Desire knows no bounds and limitations
Ignoring the petty and the trifling
Aspiring and aiming higher and higher
Desire adds fuel to the fire.

A child desires the mother to shower praises
In front of all he runs and embraces
Father and mother all caress
The loving feat of son all blessed.

From than he desires for things more
Satisfying the teacher and the folklore
Good grades and ranking
Develops for all these strong liking.

Gradually reaches he reaches adulthood
Next to the girl he loves still stood
Desires to catch her attention
Wants to impress and lift her into heart’s mansion.

Married to the girl he adored
Two lovely children borne beloved
Caught in web of intricacies
The cycle of desires repeated by son he sees.

Is the culprit the desire?
In pursuance of which life has become a satire
The parents who considered me the world
Left and ignored by me as if saga untold.

Experience is the best teacher
For I thought the lessons at school
Are meant only for a fool
Now I realize........... So much I missed so much I missed...........
