Desire Poem by Sadiqullah Khan

Desire

Rating: 5.0

The desire's ultimate goal
Rushing the blood into the sleeping recesses of the brain
Awakening of the demons of the past
Breeding and growing
Out of the cells
Into the head with pounding fists
Lust the banner they carry
Values trampled under feet
The angelic force’s rise
In defense
Greed is the playing field
Or the mass of flesh
Sans love

This poem could also have been titled ‘Addiction’ I think. Well done.

They say that once a person has left us physically, be that due to separation or worse, it's how a person once made us feel that matters, not what they did. If someone gave you this feeling Sadiqullah then they mattered. I love the message in this poem, the last line gives it power: 'Sans love', hmm... worth pondering on. HG: -) xx

Earthly desires are human pleasures though fleeting in a way and the value of happiness is not worthy
