Desire

Stone walls do not a dungeon make
Nor iron bars a prison
Save desire
Which bound to wheels of opposites
Restless in rest
Arrests fear and truth

So much our life is
What our desire make it
Though in opposition
To both God's will
And our own good,
Never content in the self

Through the self.
Not to choose, is to end desire
And with it, mind's vagrancy-
Vital for soul's growth,
Something worthy to live for
Great to die for.
