Lonely roads have stretched before me
Bending left then to the right
Ever winding, ever twisting
Tangle-wood on either side
But the path below
Well trodden
Making room for feet to stride
On my journey going forward
Trying to find the end in sight
And the forest-dark-foreboding
Blocks the view from either side
But the sun above
Is shining
Beaming rays my path to light
Tired feet must keep on moving
Weary heart cannot take flight
While strange shadows dance around me
Creeping out from either side
But the moon up high
Is smiling
Giving comfort in the night
Slowly darkness turns to dawning
Blanketing my path in white
Misty vapor from the jungle
Circles round on every side
But the warmth of
Sunshine beaming
Brings a new view into sight
Lush and green a tranquil meadow
Spreads as far as eyes can see
Filled with fields of pretty flowers
Lined with pine trees tall and free
Here my heart will find contentment
While my spirit
Rests with Thee.
So beautiful... a cloud of imagination and faith hung above this poem, shielding life from the fierce hot sun. I love your work! Can't say more. This should be the number 1 poem!

An odd meter that works beautifully. Nice job Pat.
