Devil Streets Poem by Kelvin Rush

Devil Streets

Rating: 4.0

These ghastly cold depressing streets
Filled with filth from human feets
The stench of menace floods the air
Human destruction is everywhere

Heartless beings ravaged by time
Don their uniforms and inflict the crime
Nasty little vicious cheats
Dispense their violence upon these streets

Secret codes concealed within
No one knows who's out or in
Many sleep in blood stained sheets
Bringing terror upon these streets

Fear and pain and constant doubt
Many commit suicide it's the only way out
Everyone suffers so many defeats
It's hard to survive on these savage streets

Love and compassion has drifted away
Emotions shelved for another day
It's all about survival no pleasure no treats
Stuck for life on these perilous streets

No one knows how it all began
Who chose The Slow Destruction Of Man
The bloodline thrives as it repeats
Stay well away from these evil streets

Hungry children no strength to play
Broken faces nothing to say
Fighting each other for the rotten meats
Their lives are doomed on these streets

I curse the day that I was born
Violently abused left forlorn
The ambition and hope soon depletes
No one survives on these Devil Streets
