Devotion Taken For Granted Poem by Justin Alquist

Devotion Taken For Granted

Rating: 1.5

</>At a banquet with my beloved
Married only three days ago
I love her, cherish her,
Completely protect her
With every ounce of my body and soul
She leaves the hall to get us some wine
But a few minutes later, the people are about to dine
I run past a hallway
I see her…
I watch her…
I walk over to her…
And punch the man who had his lips pressed against hers.
She yells “What the hell! ” And I hit her as well,
And leave the two behind on the floor to rot.
