There’s a diamond in the sand.
Cox’s Bezer, Bangledesh
There’s a diamond in the sand.
Steadily pacing back and forth
Searching, looking to retrieve that diamond
But the sand is too plentiful.
The sand won’t subside it won’t move out of the way
Only way for it to move is if I shovel it
But without a pail I’ll just be making the other side higher
So much sand, so far to walk.
But wait, something shiny, running to grab it.
But the tide rushes in waters pummel the shine.
Only way is to dig. Dig, dig, dig, sharp pain,
It was merely glass sand that cannot go back
Again pacing the sun beams and the sand overheats
Into more glass,
Stumbling from cuts and wounds, but,
There’s a diamond in the sand.
Day in and night out, looking for the diamond
Is it worth it all the pain and grief?
Pacing back and forth, back and forth.
Finally the diamond finally! ! ! !
………….But it’s plastic.
Wait…There’s another diamond in the sand.
ur a good writer uve werote lots man keep up the good work eh! !
Chances of gettin a diamond in the sand are small Its better to find your riches in heaven Good write
Smiling here... yeah... the treasure at the end of the rainbow... always an illusion as it's the journey that makes a man not the thing he finds... Like your sense of humour at the end. Good Poem... entertaining and kept me reading easily.
