Dictate No Longer Poem by Amy Fifita

We all have choices,
No matter how trapped we feel.
We can't let the past dictate us,
Cause then we're only passing the blame.
That's what I did,
Living in the past,
Not wanting a future,
Not caring about the present.
But a wise man told me,
To live for the future,
to not let the past control.
And although it was only his opinion,
I agree with it.
So the past, no matter how dark,
Or daunting,
Will dictate no longer
