In the twilight of our years parading
With the light slowing fading
And the curtain ready to fall
I go back to thinking of all the things I can recall
The good times, the bad
The happy, the sad
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel
Shrinking as if being poured through a funnel
Age old questions come to mind
As we step down the stairs of mankind
Did we chase every dream
And lived it to every extreme
De we capture the essence of glee
And treasured it to the nth degree
Did we wear a smile every day
Put silly grins and horrendous laughs on display
Did we leave it all out on the field
Every ounce of passion our body can reveal
Did we face every challenge to the max
Crossed all the t’s, dotted all the i’s to all the facts
Did we take aim with the straightest of arrows
As we made our way through the tightest of narrows
Did we turn over every stone
At least tossed a hungry dog a bone
Did we leave too many questions without an answer
Because any doubt will surely lead to cancer
Did we love deep from the heart
With vows never to part
So in the twilight of our swan song
Will the truth be right or wrong
As we play the final act
Did we keep a happy ending intact

Well done dear fellow poet Alfred Ramos. Crucial questions remained without an answer or a clear-cut answer, anyway (I set parallel questions in my poem GIOCONDA) . I give it a 9++ (the bones for the dog, and the cancer could be omitted) . The end 'Did we keep a happing ending intact' is indeed a strong verse.
