Die Again Poem by Em Jay Christian

Die Again

If I rip my heart out of my chest,
Will you finally look my way?
If I rip my tongue out of my mouth,
Will you let me have my say?

If I use this blade to slit my wrists,
Will you realize that I bleed?
If I prove to you that I've done wrong,
Will idol perfections still succeed?

If tears fall from my clouded eyes,
Will you understand my pain?
If rage drips from my eager lips,
Will my anger leave a stain?

Would you leave my corpse up there to rot,
Stuck there in your web of lies?
Would you put your fingers in your ears,
And hum over my cries?

Would you open your arms and keep me there,
Welcome me to live within?
Or would you banish me to cut myself,
And welcome me to die again?

I found this poem really moving and think it's beautifully dark. The emotions are powerful.
