I'M A Bird Poem by Em Jay Christian

I'M A Bird

I could over analize this,
And I could scream.
I could spit violent swears,
From my tongue to my lips,
And I could hurt,
And I'd come clean.
To rid myself of everything
And everyone who made me feel,
Such hate.
And I could lie
I could lie, just like you,
And then we'd be the same,
Again.
'If I'm a bird, your a bird.'
And I could remember,
Every time you promised,
A girl can dream,
And I could Sin,
Because who's God to judge.
Who's he to turn me in,
To Change me,
Like you, you'd change me,
If you thought it might make ANY difference,
In the way,
That I love.
Why hate?
Because I don't love the same way,
Who are you to say,
What love is right or wrong,
Though it's love all along.
So I sing,
I sing out like a bird,
To the clouds,
'If I'm a bird, your a bird, '
So come clean.
Don't deny it,
Don't lie, don't try to hide,
Don't pray.
Who's God to judge me anyway?
I can fly,
High,
Long over rooftops and chimneys,
Spread my wings,
And scream.
Fly away from this place,
Fall from grace,
And sing.
For better or for worse,
Blessed beyond all doubt,
Or cursed?
If I'm a bird,
What are you?
Are you a bird?
