Dirty Whiteout Christmas Poem by Hubert Wilson

Dirty Whiteout Christmas

Strange sheets of howling horizontal dirty snow!
Hour after hour nature put on her windy vengeful show!
Exceptional exhibition with which mere men could not contend!
Mortals would not break but in every way bend?
Yearning to leave?
About such tenuous thoughts were for the hopelessly naive?

Anger by such an overpowering cosmic force!
Left each on the isolated frozen island with no recourse!
Absent even communication!
Staying in their station was the only option in this daily aberration!
Knowledge of no change brought no natural reprieve!
All would always recall this extended Christmas Eve!
