Disappearing (My First Poem) Poem by Ellie McAfee

My blood like a river
flowing in my veins
my heart pounding
quickening as i run

'Run into the woods'
says a voice, calling out to me
Do i stay on my path or run?
'Run.' I listen,
My heart feels like it's going to explode
my whole body is sure to implode

implode into space i disappear from this earth
'surely i will get back home' i thought
'No, there is no way home. Stuck in space forever.'

Soon my body will severe in time
time is running out
out of air
air is sure to disappear
disappear into another world
world fading from sight
sight fading from me
i am no more.
